
Local Walks
Valley of Rocks (approx 2.5 miles round-trip)
Walk up Lee Road (past the Town Hall and Costcutter) and continue past Holman Park into the Valley of Rocks. Walk past the cricket pitch and turn right at the mini roundabout up a path with amazing sea views. Continue along this path which brings you back to Lynton via North Walk.
Woody Bay (approx 8 miles round-trip)
From the Valley of Rocks, the South West coast path continues on to Lee Abbey and then Woody Bay. Alternatively, you can get to Woody Bay by car.
South Cleave (approx 4 miles round-trip)
Turn right onto the Lynway from the top of The Lynhurst. Keep straight up the hill (Alford Terrace), turn right at the junction and carry on down the road (Station Hill). Turn left at the bend up the hill and follow the signs. This is quite a climb but there are magnificent views of Lee Bay. Return the way you walked, or drop down a path in the bracken to the Valley of Rocks.
Hollerday Hill (approx 2 miles round-trip)
At the back of the Town Hall follow the path up the hill for lovely views of the Valley of Rocks and over to Countisbury and Exmoor.
Watersmeet (from Lynmouth) (approx 3.5 miles round-trip from Lynmouth)
From Lynmouth, follow the beautiful river path up to Watersmeet House and tea room. Return back to Lynmouth on the other side of the river. This is as flat as Lynton / Lynmouth gets(!), but still has a couple of short uphill stretches.
Watersmeet (via Summerhouse Hill) (approx 6 miles round-trip)
Turn left on the Lynway from the top of The Lynhurst, following the path to the Cottage Inn. Turn left after crossing the bridge and follow the signs to Lynmouth / Hillsford Bridge up Summerhouse Hill. Follow the signs to Watersmeet, via the 100 steps and the Myrtleberry iron age settlement.
Barbrook (approx 2 miles round-trip)
Turn left on the Lynway from the top of The Lynhurst, following the path to the Cottage Inn. Turn right over the bridge and walk along the river to the road and back again.
